So, quilt-y & fashion friends! I've had emails from a bunch of you that are
coming to my event on the 5th. Thanks! See ya there!
(Friday night is sold out) Yippee!
Now can I point you to the Saturday events?
We have room still available for you to attend!
Are you coming to NYC for the August Quilter's Take Manhattan event?
Want to come win some goodies, and chat up a bunch of fabulous quilters?
MaryAnn Fons, Her daughter Mary Fons ( do you know her show QUILTY?)
And Jay MacCarroll!
We will all be together August 6th at FIT, to chat, win some drawings and
participate in some silent auction gifts!
So. I want two of you here...
I have two tickets,
valued at $45 each
to give away for the Saturday event!
Leave a comment here to win!
I will pick a random
winner for each ticket on July 20th 9 a.m.
Be sure I can contact you!
If you just want to come and get your ticket now, read on!
5 Reasons Why You Should Come to the
NYC Alliance Benefit, Saturday, August 6
1. The program rocks.
Marianne Fons will give a short talk, then you will meet her daughter Mary, a Chicago actress and slam poet with her own new quilt show, Quilty. Then, Project Runway winner Jay McCarroll will be interviewed for the AAQ's oral history project, by New Jersey's own, Mark Lipinski.
2. The perks rock.
Admission includes not just the program, but also refreshments, goody bags, door prizes (including Benartex fabric and 3 AccuQuilt GO! Baby machines) and a fun silent auction.
3. The price rocks.
You get a full afternoon's program and all the extras for only $45.
4. The location rocks.
The hip Fashion Institute of Technology is a short walk from Penn Station.
5. The organization rocks.
Buying a ticket helps the nonprofit Alliance for American Quilts with its mission to document, preserve and share the stories of quilts and their makers.
Still haven't convinced you?
If you buy a $45 ticket to "Marianne & Jay on the Runway" during July, atwww.AllianceForAmericanQuilts. org, your name is automatically entered into a drawing to win a cameo appearance on "Quilt Out Loud," the TV show hosted by Mark Lipinski & Jodie Davis. Two winners will be notified July 31, and their appearances will be taped at the August 6 event, for a fall episode of the internet TV show.
Want to add to the fun?
You can also help the Alliance by buying a ticket to a cocktail party on August 6, which starts at 7:30 pm at the famed City Quilter shop in Chelsea. Leave the F.I.T. event, grab a quick bite, then walk over to the City Quilter for drinks and eats, a chance to see the Noriko Endo show in City Quilter's new art quilt gallery. Rub elbows with Alliance board members like Moda CEO Mark Dunn, Mark Lipinski, Jodie Davis, quilt novelist Marie Bostwick, art quilters Frances Holliday Alford and Leslie Tucker-Jenison, and more. Plus, Alliance supporters like Paula Nadelstern.
Come to the cocktail party also (or instead of the afternoon event). Tickets are $100, but the crowd will be more intimate and you will be helping an awesome organization.
More details and ticket buying instructions at www.AllianceForAmericanQuilts. org.
Come party with Meg, and meet the Alliance board members and friends!!!
I would love to attend the event. Thanks for the opportunity!
