Review and give away

I was sent a copy of a new book to Review for you,
and offer up a giveaway!

I personally don't have many quilt books,
the ones that I do have are mostly
on old quilts...
So it was interesting to sit down and flip open this book to see...

it says on the site:
Using the well-established methods and styles of the centuries-old handicraft, art quilts combine fabrics and other materials to create innovative, stunning, and contemporary results. The Art Quilt Collection profiles several artists in the field—many of them award-winning—along with their creations, showing readers the step-by-step process by which scraps of fabric become vibrant works of art. Readers will be inspired to experiment with quilting techniques and create their own unique pieces.

It has some techniques interspersed though out the book ...
There are hopes you will learn a few new tricks along the way...

It is a nice book with a little blurb from each artist about the quilt, and a detail shot
rather like a quilt show...

The printing is quite nice, And the photography looks great.

It's more a coffee table book of a hand picked selection of ART quilts...
some artists have more than one quilt in the book.
I'm not sure the techniques are necessary for this,
but others may like that, if your dabbling in PLAY!

Perhaps a good gift for your art quilter friends?

Would you like a chance to have a look yourself?

Leave a comment here and I will
pick a winner Friday morning, 9a.m.

REMINDER:
don't miss out by being a "no reply comment"...
be sure I have your email!

Thanks, and good luck!

  11. I do have quite a few quilting books... collected them first for a long time before I started making quilts. (I was under the misconseption that you had to be a granny to make one. Once I realized I was a granny I started with quilts for my kids getting married... seemed like an appropriate gift.) Anyway, I'd like to send you a few of my books, if you'd like to give me your address.

  39. I Love looking at books for inspiration in my quiltmaking. And yes its true I own a few art quilt books, I find them amazing to own for their color sense and their freedom of sewing. How they can sew shapes together to form a quilt inspires me. Some of them just don't follow the traditional quiltmaking rules and it inspires me to move out side the box. I would love to own this book as that is my goal this year...move outside the box and allow myself to just create.
thanks for the opportunity to win this book
