Playing hooky

Playing hooky for me means running to see  a quilt-y friend, Amy.
 Check out Amy's new adventure...
She inspires me constantly.
She's also my partner in crime for the NYC MOD Quilters
Check out our blog. We've had some fun things going on over there...

It was about 74 degrees out, sunny and fabulous, all the fall leaves were peak with color...
I had to get out of the city... I was itching for some gal pal time.
Thanks Amy for letting me come knock on your door...and bending your ear!

We of course, made a bee line for the quilt shop.

Roxanne Lasky and her Husband, Stuart run
a very cute BRIGHT quilt shop in
Ridgefield, CT.

Roxanne has a Fabulous eye for color, her selection of fabrics in stock, glorious!
I've never seen so many Jennifer Paganelli prints in one shop... HEAVEN!

I had to check out twice.... LOL!
First with the aboriginals, and then with these 4 below...

DO you see a yellow/orange red trend going here?
I think I was totally inspired by the beautiful fall day!

Don't you just want to go jump in a pile of leaves!

This was a day I needed.
I think I soaked up all the color from the trees...
Thanks for being my tour guide Amy!

Come back tomorrow...
I will have something fun to share!

  6. Hey Victoria!
You were in my hood today. I actually almost played hooky myself and went to the Quilter's Alley. Too funny. Don't you just love Roxanne's shop! Great selection. Glad you had such a fun day. Perfect weather for it.

  7. What an amazing day! I love the gal pal time, the fabric shopping time, and the fall inspiration. I have never seen that many JP fabrics in one place either - wish our shops around here would carry all that! I love hearing that you had to check out twice. Those aboriginal fabrics are really gorgeous; might have to look for those. Thanks for sharing your day!

If you need a vacation then take one!! You deserve it, what with all your work on Basics, plus keeping us entertained; don't look on it as playing hookey, you're just recharging your creative energy!

  12. Makes me a bit homesick for New England...we don't get quite that much color down here.

Looks like a great quilt store!

  13. You inspired me to run off this morning to my favorite quilt shop, Sew Bee It, where I drooled over the selection of Aussie fabs, silks, linens as well as all those glorious colors by Kaffe and friends. It was a perfect day and I should have taken my camera! Maybe next trip

  14. Just roaming Fat Quarter Quilt Shop and noticed they've got a bunch of JP prints 50% off. I'm almost positive you'd know - after all you are like THE quilter. But thought I'd share just in case.
