I love NY

Today was spent walking around my favorite city in the world.
My home.
NYC.

coming over for lunch.
They spoiled me with cupcakes... yum!

We walked down to the Empire Quilt guild meeting at F.I.T.
and listened to Terry White talk about Machine beading and thread painting...
then sat back and watched the Show and Tell. (they will up date some time soon)
Always a lot of fun.
Afterward, we took a stroll to City Quilter, and of course picked up a few goodies...
(I see a sugar skull project in my future...)
and a to a few of the fabric shops in my garment center hood... Need silks?
My hood is a good place to find some cheap...

We said our goodbyes, and I meandered home,
only to be met with my hubby and daughter and two dogs, wanting to walk
to the piers on the Hudson river, not far from our loft.
By the time we left, the sun had set...
And we took our moments of silence for the Twin Towers tribute in lights shining from ground zero.
I love my NEW YORK.

  2. Yes, it was a perfect day!! We had so much fun and Karen and I couldn't stop yapping on the way home. We did stop at Crumbs and picked up some treats to bring home to family, and yes they were yummy!! Loved Terry White, but I have to say, I especially enjoyed lunch and then walking around NYC with the both of you! My head is swimming with ideas about how to use my new found dupionis... a project is coming on. I can just feel it. A sewing day get together, maybe??

  4. Sounds like a wonderful day. Nice pics of NYC. I've never been, but NYC sort of became everyone's "home" town 9 years ago.

    In stitches,
    Teresa :o)

  10. I love your city too! I visited for the first time in May, and even saw you at the Empire Quilters Guild meeting. The whole visit was a lovely experience! You are very fortunate to live there. All New Yorkers have my sympathy for 9/11. I always thought I would have dinner some day at Window on the World. When I looked at the Manhattan skyline from New Jersey, I still cannot fully comprehend what was lost that day.
