Dallas here i come.

I'm set.

Although my mind is spinning, rather like the rings on
this sand painting in Union Square today....

Why is it, when I have no time to create,
my brain goes into creative overdrive?

My fingers itch...

I have way to many projects to work on...
but I have even more in my mind...

I hate missing the opportunity of creative energy...
I like to pounce on those moments,
& not let them slip by.

(yes, that beer truck star actually inspired me)

DO you write down your ideas?

or Do you let them slip by until one grabs hold?

And festers?

Thank you Dagmar for your houses!

I had a lovely chat with the today...
We're are organizing a kids day
to make blocks which will also be made into quilts
for the fundraisers in the fall...

It will most likely be after school one day (possibly a wed eve)
towards the end of April...

I will need volunteers to come along and help me...

Are you in the NYC area?

If you'd like to help me for a few hours one day,
leave me a comment...

so I can keep you posted
as we narrow down the day...

Believe me, these kids will have some creative energy!

Come play.

(remember, I will be away for a bit, but not disconnected...
I may be slow to answer my emails though...)

  1. I might be able to make it! Depends on the time, I'm a teacher and finish work at 2:50. But it takes me about a little over an hour to get to the city from work, so...if it's after 4 I could probably do it?

  2. Boy I wish I were near NYC. I wish I could help with kids making a quilt for any project. Good luck.

  3. I am so jealous! I want to go to Dallas!!!!

  4. have fun in Dallas!!!!!
oh love the chalk drawing, must have been fun to watch.
    enjoy your vacation!

  5. What a wonderful way to get the kids involved! Wish I could help!
Your comment about the brain going on creative overdrive.... So true!
    Have fun on your trip!

  6. I write and draw my ideas down when they come to me... otherwise they go into the nether-world and never return. There are random notes in my purse, in my bathroom, my computer, at work, at home, in my car... you name it. I have no idea how I'm going to accomplish all my mind creates. But it is still fun to doodle and create! :)

Love the chalk mandala!! I do those all the time at work, weather permitting, my patients love it! :)

  7. I should really carry a notebook with me, and my camera more often! I do take more pics these days, and go back to them later. Love the pic of the pavement. I could do things with that! Thinking Andy Warhole pop art ish

  8. Dear Victoria, I"m going to send off a block on MOnday. I just love what you do, and I"ve emailed you a couple of times, but this is the first time I have participated. My block "Are you home, Dottie?" will arrive from California next week. You're a gem, hope Dallas was terrific,
    Kaaren B

  9. . I wish I could help with kids making a quilt for any project. Good luck.
