QUESTION for any of you... I have these three large yardages of wool fabric. Has anyone used this for quilts? I'm guessing I need to pre-shrink it... Anything else I need to know? thank you!
I have no idea, but if you find out, I'd love to know. My mother-in-law gave me a bunch of wool fabric she had when they moved a few years ago. I'd love to make her a quilt out of it, but wool scares me!
I would begin by putting in the washing machine and dryer. It will change the texture of the wool but will make it usable for quilts. Then, you just use it like cotton fabric. Gwen Marston has some quilts in her Liberated Quiltmaking that are made from recycled wool.
