Donation Quilts!!!

Bumble Beans BASICS update!

220 quilts have been donated to date, this year for the current Quilt drive for the Stadium Women's Shelter in the Bronx New York. I am very happy to say that Michael Miller Fabrics, donated over 100 quilts from they back stash of sample quilts to help keep these women warm!!

THANK YOU MICHAEL MILLER FABRICS and EVERYONE WHO DONATED A quilt this year!!!!!!

So many beautiful quilts!!! Wow! Well done!!
We have gathered enough for the Stadium Shelter and also...
5 more boxes of baby quilts that will be given the children's program through the Acacia Network as well... It has just gotten cold here in NYC, so these will be going to new homes just at the perfect time!

Info on where the quilts go:

200 quilts for women of the Stadium Women’s Shelter!

“The Stadium Women’s Shelter program provides shelter, quality care and access to a wide array of services to over 200 women who suffer from extreme to moderate mental illness. The women are referred to the program through Dept. of Homeless Services.”
I am working again with a new program run through the Acacia Network ( Formerly BASICS). They currently have 200 women in “the Stadium Women’s Shelter” who desperately need quilts. We all know a quilt is the best sign of love and hope, and during this crazy long, cold winter, this is the time to help!
Thank you Also to Sue, Michelle, and Leslie for coming today to help me sort through, organize and repack all the quilts for delivery!!!
I so appreciate the help!!!!

THANK YOU ALL!!

  1. Victoria, this is what quilts are all about. Not the judging, bling, or competition. Quilts are a gift to the quilter and to one under it. Thank you so much for sharing. I cannot imagine being in those women's shoes.
