Market...

Hello From Texas! Here's a great shot of the Houston Convention center at sunrise... Days start early, and one needs a good hearty breakfast to walk the 8 football field long area of Quilt  Market... The Trade show for peeps in the Quilting industry.

I often joke I get so much dine because I use my favorite TL2010 Juki sewing machine because it is so fast.. Here you can see even while I am working, I am making quilt tops!  hahahaha!  It's great when you get to demo on your favorite machine and make something useful when you are away from your studio!

Today was a fun, full day... So what does that mean? I was demoing in Simplicity and Juki, Book signing with all the fabulous quilters in the Where women create book, Quilters, their Studios, stories and quilts, and shooting a short video for QNNTV with Jodie Davis, along with Allison Glass, Camille Roskelley, and myself on our new thread collections with Aurifil.

Below, we were at the book signing, and Kaffe said, we should be doing this as a video, not realizing we already were...Here's a short clip from it:
All in attendance from the book: Michele Musks, Myself, Leslie Tucker Jenison, Brigitte Heitland, Kaffe, Liza Lucy, Tula Pink, Amanda Murphy, Kaari Meng, Amy and David Butler, heather Grant, Alissa Haight Carlton,Katie Pasquini Masopust, Hoodie, Jina Barney, and the Lovely Jo Packham, who put together a beautiful book. Sadly my storage on my iPhone filled up, and I could't record the whole event... But, know that we were having a great  time. LOL!  ( Of course we were!!)

More to come... off to rest my weary head,  Yes it maybe work, But it is a whole lot of fun also... can you tell?

I think this should be my 15 Minutes of PLAY assistant!

  3. Fun!!! I cannot wait to get a copy of that book. If you run into Kaffe again, thank him for me for his wonderful biography. I devoured every word and it changed my life. Now, quit reading comments and get out there and have fun! :)

  4. That is just the most wonderful picture of the Convention Centre. I live in The Netherlands and was lucky enough to be able to go to the Quilt Festival 3 years in a row. It was just the most wonderful, exciting, fun, inspiring quilting experience ('Festival' is the correct word, what a party). Unfortunately I am not able to go this year, but that picture shows how I felt every morning in the taxi going towards the Convention Centre, all that promise of a wonderful day ahead! And I can now finally show my family over here how big it really is! Have a great Market! Enjoy!

  7. thanks for sharing! you all look like you are having so much fun. I'm surprised that you bring the Juki with you - it is such a heavy machine! I am so glad that I have one too I love it but I'm afraid mine sits on the sewing table all the time as I am too much of a wimp to carry it anywhere :) thank you for giving me your input on the machine before I bought it.
