I have not been reading as much as I like, BUT!  
I can never turn down a good sit down with a cookbook...

So You get my TOP TEN COOKBOOKS list

Susanna Foo Fresh Inspirations
Anything I have ever made in this book has been fabulous...
Great for learning about STOCKS. ie: veggie, chicken, etc.. 
(the best I 've ever made)
and shrimp
Susanna Foo Fabulous flavors
SALT chicken... heaven...

this book is all about FLAVOR...
a whole section on GINGER... I'm in Heaven..
Her magazine is on my Christmas list.. I covet her mags that I have... 
So many great recipes...    Our most favorite of hers is here
and also this hummus recipe is a favorite of ours

We love the restaurants, and all the mezze dishes...

Great soups, and this is a  family favorite recipe.

Alice waters the art of simple food
Aoili recipe comes to mind....

a classic... always great for quiche, pie crusts, and cookies
and stews!

Alexis gave me this book recently... Although I have only 
made ONE thing from it, I have half the book dog eared... with things to MAKE soon!

Besides supporting our local fav. chef (she lives down the road from us)
This is a great book for party cooking...
and pot lucks...  
We sorely miss her shop in town that she closed 
as she was about to make it big... 
at least I can get the recipe for her maple scones... best ever...

And lastly, it's a tie!
My two vegan/vegetarian cook books are:
 Great portobello mushroom recipe.

My go to when I need to revamp my vegetables...

  1. I am inspired by your cookbook recommendations (and the fact that Ina is a neighbor - say Hi to her for me) I am going to investigate them soon. Thanks for a wonderful year of great ideas and tutorials - my favorites this year were the Waverunner (maybe that was the year before) and the "making fabric" pieces - love the 15 minute idea too!!!   2. Like you I can't turn down a good read. And also like you, I haven't been doing as much lately. Probably because of the holiday rush. I love Boo's list. Is Santa bringing them for Christmas or does she already have some? Hmmm... Now off to do some cooking of my own. Today is cookie day!
