THANKS everyone for all the comments yesterday about the sewing machine, & Ugly quilt. You guys are so helpful! SO many great ideas, and some FUN honest answers.
I got my machine fixed somewhere different than last time, and I think they actually got it right this time! It machine sews, like a dream...
Timing timing, timing... Timing is everything!
I'm trying to finish up a bunch of quilt tops I have
had half done for a while now. Don't we all!
So now that my machine is working properly, maybe I can get to this one below...

LEFT --------------------RIGHT

I need some help... I've had this one sitting here for a bit and I want to finish it, but I can not decide which way to put the stripe...
I like them both... If I had more fabric I'd make one of each.. but no such luck...

Any thoughts?

LEFT pic OR RIGHT pic?

  2. yay for the winner!

I vote for the horizantal stripe.. (right).

  3. I was going to suggest you do one as the front and one as the back, but since you don't have enough fabric...I think I probably prefer the horizontal row, but it's close.
And I like the finished version of your red and purple quilt. It's fun!

  6. Okay, I'm going against the trend. I like the left better.

I like the way your other quilt turned out. All of that light took away from all of that red. Looks good!

  8. I like the asymmetry of the right. Have you read "The Modern Quilt Workshop" by Bill Kerr and Weeks Ringle (I hope I got those names right)? Your quilts fit right in!

  9. I see I'm clearly outvoted here, but I like the left one...too much "break" in the right one.

And way to go finsihing the quilt even if you don't like it!

  12. I like the right better. I would probably break apart the stripe at the cente seam, turn one side top to bottom. Well, I would at least look at it that way before deeciding.
