Although I knew no one who was on the planes or in the towers - I happened to have the Today Show on that morning and saw it as it was happening and was horrified by it - one daughter lived at that time in near by New Jersey and a cousin was blocks away from the Pentagon when that one happened - he was ok thankfully. I think we all have memories of where we were or who we knew!Karen - Quilts...etc.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07293429657903986492noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1443247585927280557.post-57960576489627589612013-09-11T08:08:03.797-04:002013-09-11T08:08:03.797-04:00Victoria,Thank you for sharing the pic of this qui...Victoria,Thank you for sharing the pic of this quilt. This is the first time I've seen it. Where is it displayed? I well remember that day. I was on my way to a Bible study when I first heard it. It was 9 months one day after my husband died, and I had family is all cities that were mentioned. I finally heard from son in NYC in the afternoon. What a relief to hear his voice. He worked up in the 70th St. area and could see the damage from the roof of his building. At the same time we were having a person setting explosives in rural mailboxes. A lot to handle at that time.Jeanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00190802981701206039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1443247585927280557.post-57581004482374812013-09-11T08:05:00.442-04:002013-09-11T08:05:00.442-04:00Thank you for remembering this day, this day of na...Thank you for remembering this day, this day of national importance and remembrance. You and Leana Rubin are the only two in all my email and blogs to remember (quilters or not). When I taught public school art, I always started the year with a remembrance project and taught the kids about 911. I used an excellent resource, http://www.learnabout9-11.org/?xg_source=msg_mes_network.
